Olive trees produce abundant fruit which is high in oil content and contains a staining pigment. To avoid the mess and possible allergies, it is important to spray the olive trees with a growth regulator. To be most effective, the best time to spray the trees is beginning in January prior to the tree flowering, preventing both fruit and pollen production.
